I have trouble believing that Meta won’t do “free speech for me(white christofascism) but not for thee” and suppress liberationist content (eg. Pro Palestine)

I have been very disappointed in Academia’s takes on every last issue for twenty years. We are being gaslit when we are told we need: fact checkers, data, studies, evidence. Not if it’s so flawed it’s useless. No substitute for wisdom.

The bias is very real. Funding arrangements and institutional prejudice (i.e. Structural racism) are very real. There are, however, many within academia trying to overhaul these entrenched interests.

Are your sex, ethnicity, class and gender the determining factor in the appeasement and collaboration of Empire’s plutocracy? I would say not; you can support the ideological cults of fascist narcissists from any combination of those constructed persons. The determining factor should simply be to have no fear of challenging and resisting the oligarchs lies. Further still, standing up for a politics that replaces ideological divisions, colonial resource theft and destruction with the democratic rights of diverse interests; a Federation of sovereign Republics, not the deregulated investment markets of the oligarchs corporate sovereignty and its programme of inequality, injustice, wars, terror, authoritarian government and ecocide. Risking life and limb will be the determining factor to end the death cults of Empires. With the no-selves metaphysics, the self cannot be a principle or own it. That’s what knowing thy self means.

It's long past time to educate ourselves and think - rather than letting a for-profit platform do it for us. Way to go Abbey!

I am seeking your educated opinion on the following: Marcus and Flannery wrote The Creation of Inequality, which is a cross cultural examination of cultures going back 5,000 years BP which transitioned from egalitarianism to hierarchical societies (including one case that repeatedly transitioned back and forth between the two types). Their conclusion was that inequality started with gender discrimination. Given that the US is increasingly seeing gender roles as fluid, do you think that the US will get to a point at which gender is no longer a matter of political conflict, so that the US begins to deal with class conflict in a more conscious fashion?
